Shipping Information
About Customs, Duties & Taxes
British Supermarket does not charge United Kingdom Value Added Tax (VAT) on international orders. Your country’s import duties, taxes and fees are not included in the item and shipping totals. When ordering from British Supermarket, you’re responsible for assuring the product can be lawfully imported to the destination country.
The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the destination country. Orders shipped outside of the United Kingdom may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches the recipient’s country.
British Supermarket does not collect these fees as part of the shipping costs charged during the checkout process.
Additional charges for customs clearance must be fulfilled by the recipient; British Supermarket has no control over these charges, nor can British Supermarket predict what they may be.
Every country has a tax threshold, which is the amount where a person begins paying taxes on an item. Custom duty may not apply to every international shipment.
Notes:
-
Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for more information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.
-
In the event that a recipient refuses to pay the import taxes, customs duties and fees, then British Supermarket can not be held responsible for the safe return of the goods. In most cases, failure to pay the import taxes, customs duties and fees will result in the destruction of the parcel in the destination country, and therefore, British Supermarket can not offer a refund on the sale or shipping value. It is the buyer’s responsibility to cover the shipping costs when the buyer wishes to have a second delivery attempt after the product is returned to British Supermarket.
-
Customs offices in some countries may require the importer of record to provide identification before releasing the shipment. You may be required to provide an identification number such as a Unique Identification Number, CPF, or Tax ID.
-
Countries/regions that require an identification number include: Brazil, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Israel, Nicaragua, Peru, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey.
Chocolate and Confectionary
Whilst we are more than happy to deliver to hot countries, please be aware that any chocolate or confectionery has a chance of melting due to the heat.
We cannot guarantee that your chosen goods will arrive without being melted, so we ask you to please consider this before making your order as we are unable to refund for this reason. We thank you for your understanding.
Change of Courier
When there is an industrial dispute, remote delivery locations, or any other related issues, we might decide to send your order through an alternative courier, and this can lead to a change in the delivery time frame.
Liquid Limits
Customs limitations vary from country to country. You might only be able to order a specified maximum amount of liquid due to the customs law of your country.
